In 2022, Storm was back at home at AAMI Park for the full season for the first time since 2019 and the round two clash, in particular, took on very special meaning.

The first-ever professional Victorian rugby league club, Storm spent little time stamping its mark, winning the club's maiden premiership in just its second year. Melbourne Storm was founded in 1998 as part of the newly formed National Rugby League competition.
